It’s almost time! CD Release party is next week, Friday August 3rd, and I’m so so excited to be sharing the new record with you all! There will be some songs that live-show goers will recognize, and some new ones that even the closest GNT followers probably haven’t heard. I’m especially stoked to be debuting three new piano songs, and to be performing with two great, great singers who really “tie the room together”, so to speak. The show is all ages, suggested donation (read: FREE if you chose), and at maybe the coolest underground venue in the city. Check this schizz out!
Wow, what a crazy couple of months, playing lots of gigs, booking lots of European gigs and finishing up the final touches on the new album. The new album, “Wait By The Rabbit Hole” comes out August 3rd at The Complex (the-complexsf.com), an underground recording studio/all ages music venue in SOMA. Good chunks of the album were recorded lovingly and laboriously at The Complex, and I am very excited to now perform those songs in the room where they were conceived.

Summer’s coming, the sun is out, and with it comes a flurry of new shows and exciting news: 1. I am making a new album right now. I turn 22 on July 19th, it’s release will be around that date 2. I am booking a THREE-WEEK EUROPEAN TOUR for August 5th-26th to support the new album. We’re going to Northern/Eastern Germany, The Netherlands and Denmark. We’ve only been booking for a couple weeks and have added a few dates so far, are still looking for more shows in Berlin, Hamburg, The Netherlands (anywhere, it’s a small country) and Copenhagen. If you know anybody in those places who could put us up or help us out show-wise, please send us their way! Danke ~t
I found the next non-profit organization to donate CD sales from my next two shows: Oasis For Girls, http://www.sfoasis.org, creating a safe and empowering learning environment for low-income and immigrant girls and women of color in San Francisco (based in SOMA). They offer all sorts of great programs for young women: arts studies, leadership training, dance and exercise, as well as workshops in life skills such “Anti-oppression, Self Esteem, Body Image, Stress Management, Healthy Relationships, Safer Sex, Educational Options, Career Planning, Mental Health, Nutrition, Sexual Harassment, and Self-Defense,” all while helping the community in our fair city.
Our drummer Ben Burney is taking a few months off to reconnect with himself and his roots by living with his family in Europe. This so-called “European Rumspringa” will only last a couple months, but I personally and we as bandmates will miss him all the same. His last foreseeable show with us will be also one of our rare SF full-band performances, Sunday April 8th at Hemlock Tavern. Headlining the bill are one of my favorite local bands Please Do Not Fight, followed by the highly respected Hell&Lula on tour from Los Angeles. We hope you can come out and make it a special night for everybody! FACEBOOK EVENT
HUGE WRITE-UP IN THE SF CHRONICLE!! That’s right, I have a full page spread for Bandwidth (page 5 in the 96 Hours section) promoting my music and my band’s show tomorrow night at the Starry Plough! Read the article online!
Beach band babble-on! The boys from the band and I hit the beach this weekend to take some oh-so-scenic photos with our friend and very talented photographer Amelia Kennedy. Check out summa these shots!
The band and I have a show next Saturday 2/11, The Rock Hop in San Jose. All ages, at a venue that is part tiki lounge, part comic book store, all rock and roll. It’ll be a blast. To support this show, I’ll be chatting/performing on San Jose State’s radio station, KSJS 90.5FM next Wednesday from 8-10pm with Picture Atlantic and Dogcatcher(both bands will be playing the Rock Hop with us). Listen to the live stream here. Be sure to call in to KSJS during the show to express your support for local music (and yours truly!) Here’s the request line::: 408.924.5757. I have advance tickets to the Rock Hop show, email me if you’re interested.
Tomorrow, ABC (KGO-TV) will be doing an all-day holiday telethon at the Alameda County Community Food Bank. They’ll be interviewing representatives, clients, agencies, etc. from around the Bay Area, and in between some of these spots will be LIVE 15-20 second solo performances by yours truly, ‘Girl Named T’! I’ll be playing some of your favorite carols, or if you hate carols then they may be your least favorites, but I’ll also be mixing in a few originals, like “Green” and “Raven Fly“.
So if you’re up between the hours of 5:30 and 7am, and watching “Good Morning America” on ABC, you may see me, jingle-bell rockin’. I’ll also be on between 1:30-3:30pm, with much less caffeine in my blood (but still rocking)!
And this IS a fund-raising drive for the Alameda County Food Bank, who are experiencing a critical shortage in food right now, so if you have the resources you could think about contributing to this great organization.
